Setsubun (節分) is a festival held one day before the start of spring according to the Japanese lunar calendar. The most commonly performed Setsubun ritual is the throwing of roasted beans around one's house and at temples and shrines. Usually, there's at least one person dressed as an "oni" (demon) who is wearing a mask 👹

💜 Risograph or RISO is a printing method that was invented in Japan in the 1950s. In RISO, every color is a separate ink that is printed in an individual layer. This way you can get more intense colors compared to traditional printing since inks are not mixed. I love the irregularity of the textures and the misalignment of the layers, it gives prints a more interesting, vintage handmade look - every piece is unique! It takes a bit more time and effort than digital printing but I’m loving his method and the quality it offers.
