Hi, I’m Marina González, also known as breathingtokyo in social media.
I'm a self-taught illustrator and photographer documenting contemporary Tokyo through a deeply personal lens. Every piece in my collection begins with a specific intention: to capture a fleeting moment, an emotion, or a uniquely Japanese aesthetic that resonates with both locals and outsiders experiencing the city. Nothing here is mass-produced. Every design is hand-drawn, carefully produced, packed and sold by myself. This intentionality shapes not just what I make, but how I make it.
I've built an audience online, but social media algorithms limit who can discover my work. I'm exploring other (offline) environments where meaningful connections can happen—spaces that understand storytelling and intention. I believe SOMSOC could be the perfect space for that, it would be an honour to be considered as one of the artists who work with you.
I would like to present you the items that I think could be the best fit for the gallery, which are my stickers. If you want to see all the products you can check them at https://breathing.tokyo/shop
Thank you for the opportunity :)
Pixel Tokyo
A collection featuring Tokyo's iconic sceneries. The pixel art and webcore style reference both retro digital nostalgia and the fragmented, hyperconnected nature of modern Tokyo. Each sticker tells a micro-story.
Pantone Pixel Japan
A collection presenting the concept of “The colors of Japan”, showcasing different parts of the culture like Pantone colors. This collection is a love letter to anyone who loves design and Japanese culture.
Midnight Heartbreak
This is my most personal collection. Created during profound emotional reflection, these designs are an ode to all the highs and lows inherent in relationships. A love and heartbreak story in four acts.
Other stickers
Single designs that I have released over the years.
